I’m Nicole I moved to Terry Mill Rd in 2021. Since then, I’ve seen a dog get hit, our power get knocked out for three days, a cyclist get hit, and cars crashing into people’s lawns — and speed played a part in it all. We have kids that live on the street and pets that roam the sidewalks. With the limited visibility hills and blind turns, it makes Terry Mill pretty scary to be on.

I started the Traffic Calming process with DeKalb county in April of 2023. Since then, we’ve had to:

• Obtain ~20 homeowner signatures within 45 days to show initial interest in the program

• Pass a speed and traffic test

• Create and adjust a speed table design

• Obtain 65% of homeowner signatures within 90 days to show approval of the design and initiative on our street

From what I’ve heard, this is our third attempt at getting traffic calming measures installed on our stretch of Terry Mill, and we did it!
